Eisenhower's Farewell Address

On the eve of the State of the Union, here's Eisenhower's farewell address. It is not long:

I didn't even know about this until last night, when friends and I watched Why We Fight; a new documentary, which showed excerpts from the speech. Eisenhower's words were prophetic.

The Pirates of Penzance

Hey everyone. I will be appearing as the Sergeant of Police in Gilbert and Sullivan's The Pirates of Penzance. We open this Friday in San Francisco for a two-week run at the Yerba Buena theater (across the street from SF MOMA, the W Hotel, and the XYZ Bar), and then move to Walnut Creek for one week at the Dean Lesher.

"Wacky, irreverent, and as entertaining today as it was when it first opened in 1879, the Pirates of Penzance spins a hilarious farce of sentimental pirates, bumbling policemen, dim-witted young lovers, dewy-eyed daughters, and an eccentric Major General, all morally bound to the often-ridiculous dictates of honor and duty."

I'm really impressed with the cast, director, conductor, orchestra, and production values. I think this will be a great show, so if you are a G&S fan, please come out and see it!
